It was raining when we woke up this
morning and the only reason we weren’t cold was because we slept under a
comforter last night.
Cordell went outside for a morning
walk while I chose to stay inside. I received a video call from my prayer
partners and I love keeping in touch with them this way.
Yesterday, I bought a magazine and
while reading it this morning, I found a QR code that allowed me to download
the current issue to my iPhone for free. It only works for 30 days, but I could
have saved myself the price of the magazine if I had known about this
application earlier.
So what is there to do on a rainy
day in Fort Myers? We read for awhile.
Then, we went to find a geocache for
this day. There are so many placed in this area, that we actually looked for
two.
When we found that the second
geocache was at the back parking lot of a Ruby Tuesday’s restaurant and it was
noon, we decided to eat our lunch there. The food was delicious and when I
walked through the dining room I noticed all the different dishes people were
eating and everything look really good.
Ever since we arrived here I have
been wanting to stop at a place that advertised U Pick tomatoes. Today we
finally went there and I was surprised to find vine ripe tomatoes for sale. We
didn’t pick our own, but I saw people who were doing that. The tomatoes ripened
only this week! And I was told that there will be tomatoes growing until late
June when it gets too rainy and then too hot in the following months. This
place is close enough to our condo that I don’t have to buy a lot of them at
one time. Today I purchased three nice tomatoes for the price of what one would
have cost me at home.
Mmmmmmm.... there is nothin' better than vine ripened tomatoes! That last picture has seriously got my mouth watering! :)
