Sunday, January 12, 1014 – Peaceful Day

This is the day the Lord has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it. I was especially glad to have fresh locally grown strawberries with my cereal this morning.

We were dressed and ready for church.

Sunday is the Lord’s day and we like to gather at church to worship Him with our brothers and sisters in Christ. Today we returned to Hope Lutheran Church in Bonita Springs. We attended this church several weeks last year and like it very much. Unlike many of the churches at home, the traditional service here is the most attended--332 last week as opposed to 88 at the contemporary service, which is the one we prefer. They also have a Spanish service on Sunday afternoons.

This church has a fantastic music leader and we especially like the extended time of worshipping through singing.

The windows next to the doors at the entrance had a Christmas scene painted on them and I was thinking that someone--not us--could do the same thing at our church at home.

We took a walk around the Crown Colony neighbor as soon as we got home from church.

Then I put a pot roast in the oven to cook while we watched the NFL playoff games.

We had a video call with our son, Andy, while he was at our house. We are so grateful that he is willing to stop in regularly and check on things for us while we are away.

We enjoyed a great dinner.

It was a joyful, peaceful, quiet day for us.
