What a difference a day makes and
what an even bigger difference 1,060 miles to the north makes. Even though the
temperature was below normal here for this time of the year, it still was a
nice day compared to what our family and friends were dealing with back home in
Maryland.
We are not sorry to miss out on the snow.
We began a day of geocaching under a
sunny sky. After all, this is the Sunshine State. We spent some time at Cape
Coral and it was really not in our plan. But, when we missed a turn and wound
up going across a bridge, we decided to make good use of the $2.00 toll we
paid. We spent the next few hours finding
geocaches and there were so many that we did not have time to look for all of
them
One especially intrigued us because it had high difficulty ratings for the hide and for the terrain. When we reached the site, we were led into a group of trees beside a canal. There was a lot of ground cover immediately around the area, but once we plowed through it we were inside a beautiful canopy of trees. We searched for this one a while because our GPS devices were 30’ off from the placement of the cache and also because we had no idea of the size or type of cache we needed to find. I finally spotted a plastic bottle zip tied high up in a tree. I was glad that Cordell was able to climb that tree and retrieve the log so we could sign our names to it.
