Wednesday, January 22nd - Cold but still not freezing here.

Today, we awoke to a clear blue sky and 53° temperature at 8:00 a.m.—quite a bit cooler than I prefer, but it is a lot better than the 7° we noted in Dunkirk.

We have been taking it easy and taking time to do some geocaching. There certainly are enough caches hidden in this area to keep us busy.

One of our favorite caches we found today is named Escargot. We like to see the ways the cache owners tie in the name of their caches with the design and/or placement of their containers. This was one that we have never seen before and we are not certain of just what we did see. The actual cache was placed inside some pod type thing that resembles a snail. We didn’t seen anything in the vicinity that looked like this “thing” so it remains a mystery to us

We ate lunch at a local BBQ restaurant. It tasted very different from the sauce I prefer, but it satisfied our hunger and re-energized us to continue on our caching quest.

The sun is setting here around 6:00 p.m. and we usually watch it while eating our dinner.

  1. I got all excited tonight and told Dennis "we're s'posed to break FREEZING tomorrow!" .... Yep! The forecast is for a high of 35! Wheeeee doggie! Zippyfinn and SeeKPeeKRs found the cache I put out for you today, and then they went and hid one for ME - in retribution! It got published this afternoon - but I am not going looking for it until it warms up -- and I'm afraid tomorrows 35 won't DO it! :)
