Thursday, January 2nd

Not much happening with us today and it feels so good to finally be settled in one place. We went out and bought enough groceries and other things to last us for a while. But first, we stopped to find a geocache to fill in this date on our geocaching calendar.

My brother gave me a gift card for the Dollar Tree, so we began there and spent all of it and more.

When we returned to our condo, we prepared our lunch and ate it on the lanai. By then the temperature had reached 81 degrees. It has been windy here today with some rain. The temps are expected to be cooler tomorrow and Saturday. After hearing that the northeast could be expecting snow in some places tonight, we were thankful again that we can spend this time here.

Finally had time to take a rest this afternoon and both of us did manage a cat nap. Cordell woke up for Margarita time!

One of my Friends who lives near Culpeper VA posted that it was snowing there this afternoon. And then later, my granddaughter who lives in Mt. Airy, MD sent me a message that it was snowing at her home. It seems like we got out of town at the right time. We are thinking about all of family and friends in the north and pray that they will keep warm and be safe.

  1. Yep! JoAnne and I were out caching most of the day today -- it was cool but not freezing. Quite nice actually! I found 10 - she found 12, and we had 4 DNFs, and lots of FUN! We were hoarding FUN because we knew the "weather" was moving in tonight and we'll be hunkered in tomorrow, while it's VERY cold and WINDY! She just texted me a few minutes ago to say she's already got 1-2'' in Friendship... but we only have a smattering here thus far. They say maybe 2-4. I think more like 1-3. That margarita looks mighty good! I bought a scratch off and a lottery ticket today. I DID win my $3 back on the scratch off -- but that won't get me to Florida! We'll see what God has in store for me when the numbers are drawn tomorrow! But if I don't win anything... HE has spoken! KEEP that in mind! LOL!
