We cooked a hearty breakfast this morning to fortify
ourselves for a siege on the flea market. It is open every Friday, Saturday and
Sunday.
Corinne mapped out a plan of attack last night so she led us
into the battlefield. We were there a good 4 ½ hours and still did not get to
scope out every booth.
We stopped shortly after noon to
fortify ourselves and each of us bought our lunch from a different vendor.
By the end of our excursion, all
of us had purchased more than one item. I saw some things that interested me
that I did not buy today. Perhaps, I will go back there before we leave
Florida.
After we got back to the condo, we
changed clothes and went to the neighborhood swimming pool. This is the first
time we have been to the pool.
One of the signs posted at the
pool notes that the maximum temperature of the pool is 104°. Surely, it means
the hot tub that is at one end. The pool water was almost too warm at this
afternoon.
We nixed our plans to eat dinner
at home and went to a restaurant. The first one we selected had a 60 minute wait
to be seated. We all were very hungry, so we left there and drove a few miles
to another one where we were seated within 15 minutes.
Back at “home” we watched the
Opening Ceremony for the Olympic Games while Andy and his family packed their
luggage. They have an early flight back to Maryland tomorrow and it looks like
they might be landing in snowy weather. It was cold when they left there last
week. They have been blessed with warm temperatures and sunshine this week and
now they will be back in the freezer. Maybe their memories of this visit to
southwest Florida will help to keep them warm.
Well... we did NOT have snow here today... but it IS cold! I'm so sorry they had to come home.... that is always just sad... But I know y'all had tons of fun at that flea market!!! I never have found another pair of those flip flops I bought there... nowhere - not even on line!
